Working from my studio in Hertfordshire, my paintings are largely the result of my fascination with people and their faces – which I believe to be the visual story-book of their life experiences, whether they be young or old.  In my work, I attempt to capture something of an individual’s essence, spirit and character – rather than solely achieving an absolute replication of their physical form. However, I hope that at some level, both aspects of a portrait seamlessly merge together in my paintings.
